Please be advised that the demolition of Building 55, the old building next to Compactor Site 2, is to commence on Tuesday, September 7th.
CMHC’s contractor estimates that the demo work should take approximately a week to complete. Please exercise extreme caution when you are walking/driving in the vicinity or when you have to go to the compactor site. Furthermore, please let your staff know to anticipate moderate amount of noise along with some dust for the entire duration of the work. Contractors will be working during regular hours, starting at 7AM, and anticipate no work on the weekends.
During the demolition, the fencing for the building will extend onto Anderson Street in order to create a safe zone. Therefore, all the angled parking stalls in front of The Keg will be blocked off for the purpose of traffic diversion. This partial street closure and traffic diversion should begin on September 8th and remain in effect until end of day on September 10th. There will be flaggers/TCPs on site to assist with traffic direction.
